Ginger Man... anyone? anyone?

well,

we are almost thru the week! yeah hoo! tomorrow night we are going to meet matt and chels for dinner ar BJs and get some good food and some good micro brews. this afternoon however, we are meeting our good friend jason at the Ginger Man for a few drinks while he is in town. he is in town during the week for a couple of weeks promoting the company he works with. i forget the name, but basically they take teens on 'mission trips' for several weeks at a time. its such a great company from what i have read and he is going to schools giving presentations on it. now that i think about it, they proably dont market them to the public schools as mission trips because that probably wouldnt work, but anyhow its a great company, and we are excited to see him and have a few beers. he is also road biking like chan ( and lance armstrong, now you get the picture ) now and they are planning on riding all next week. chan will really have a great time having someone to ride with since i run, not ride. i am trying to decide what drink i will have first.... hummm so many choices there. :)

saturday night we are gonna cook steaks and some other food ( i just dont know what yet) and stay in hopefully watch a movie with a bottle of red. valentines is fun, but i dont ever remember us ever making a huge deal out of it. it is hard not to get carried away with it all, but i think we will be more into it when we have a kiddo to spoil. kids like it a lot... i know i did! although, i do love to send a good card every now and again... who doesnt.

i started feeling like i was getting a cold last night and i promtply started on the Zicam and the meds to ward it off. i am praying it works. speaking if sick... our good friend AMY has been feeling pretty bad the last few weeks. first the flu, the an upper respiratory infection and now kidney stones. she wrote on her blog that she is so exhausted... well, i can imagine why. she is feeling a bit better now that she nows whats wrong and has some medicine. please keep her in your prayers...

oh yes, and we had some bad weather tuesday night.... like, cole and dad sending me texts to get in the closet because our satelite (sp?) had gone out and there were tons of swirly circle thingies right above Lavon on the news... so i sat in there with our important documents some pillows and bentley for about 20 minutes while chan watched the storm from the back door or on the computer. yeah, he likes and isnt scared of storms... i hate and am terrified (understatement of the year) of them... thank goodness we didnt have any damage, but our thoughts are with the people who did sustain some storm damage and our thoughts and prayers are for sure with those in Oklahoma who lost loved ones and family members to the tornados there. seriously... those kind of storms in february? that was just crazy!! i just kept thinking 'this isnt gonna be good if chandler flys off because he wouldnt get into the closet with me'... i am sure there are a tons of jokes there... please refrain! :)

so, i think that is all i have to say today!

but we were this weekend!

let me first start with last week. we didnt really do much. i ran a few days and my shins were hurting so bad that i am taking 2 weeks off to recover. i am running another half marathon in April and need to be able to run without much pain, so hopefully taking a little bit off will help! that was reccomended by my coach.... chandler! :)

anyways, the dogs had their grooming appointments last week and they looked as cute as ever. we got ready to go out of town and cleaned the house so we would have a clean place to come back to. other than that our week was pretty low key.

friday we loaded up after work and headed for Kansas. tyler, chan's brother, joined us for the trip to go visit family! we got to visit with everyone! it was so good to see that everyone is doing well! friday night we just visited at granddad's house and then we stayed with Bryan and Erica the whole weekend at their beautiful house! saturday granddad made us breakfast and it was so good. we spent the day relaxing and looking through old pictures of granddad's. it was so neat and we even made a few copies of some of them. that afternoon everyone was getting ready for chan and ty's cousin brett's birthday party so the three of us went to a patio got a few drinks and some food and enjoyed the awesome weather for an hour or so. the birthday party was a lot of fun, getting to visit with ALL of the family. we ended the night with some bowling and then onto Erica and Bryan's house to play darts. it was really a good time had by all.

did i mention that erica is about 2 months pregnant and it was so fun talking about what is to come. she isnt feeling great in the afternoon and evenings but hopefully that will pass soon enough. we are praying for a happy and healthy pregnancy and baby! congrats again you guys!

sunday we said our goodbyes and made it back to dallas safe and sound. what a wonderful weekend, but boy were we tired when we got home.

this week we dont have much planned and this weekend we get to stay home for a weekend!!!! the only weekend in Feb that we will be home for! we plan to enjoy it a lot. hopefully the weather will be nice and we can work in the yard or something. maybe go out to white rock for some bike riding and running (or walking) depending on my shins.

anyways, coming up we have a trip to good ol abilene for sing song and a visit with tami and bryson. then we are on to snowy colorado for a ski trip at winter park and a visit with brother and the fam. we are really looking forward to our next few weekends.
